The problem
A business with three or four locations usually has no shared record of what happened today. Sales sit in one spreadsheet, expenses in another, and handover notes live in a chat thread nobody scrolls back through. The owner finds out about a problem days later.
What I built
- Daily income and expense logging per branch, with an end-of-day close
- Team tasks, shift notes and handovers
- Supply requests between staff and managers
- Role-based access for owners, managers and staff
- A combined view across all locations for the owner
Decisions
Roles came first. Owners, managers and staff need to see different things, and that shaped the data model more than any screen did.
Everything is designed around a shift, not a report. If logging takes more than a few seconds, staff stop doing it and the owner's view goes stale.
